There will be a volunteer training session on Wednesday, following the setup. Details will follow. All volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend.
We will be using Signup Genius to organize and connect with volunteers. Details and link will be coming soon.
All volunteer positions require standing, walking, and interacting with visitors around the mobile Education Center, The Wall That Heals, and parking areas.
The event takes place rain or shine. Please consider this and dress appropriately.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring a chair to sit and take a break in their designated volunteer tent area during their shift. No chairs are permitted outside of the volunteer tent area.
Depending on the volunteer position you are considering, volunteer shifts can last 3-4 hours or as long as 8 hours for the setup team. Volunteers are needed for daytime and nighttime shifts.

Assist in constructing the support system, lighting, and the placement of panels. The panels are unloaded and set in place by hand. Volunteers should be available for 6 to 8 hours and be able-bodied.

Assist in setting up the Mobile Education Center. Volunteers should be available for 6 to 8 hours and able-bodied.

Greet and assist visitors with finding names, viewing photos, and name rubbings. Listen and provide support when needed.

Talk about items, In Memory Honorees and Hometown Heroes.

Assist in finding names on the website or name directory. Monitor trifold inventory. Answer visitor questions to the best of your ability.

Greet and assist visitors with information. Direct to The Wall That Heals, Mobile Education Center, and Visitor Tent. Assist if they need help with mobility. Fill other positions as needed.

Direct parking, and Visitor assistance with transportation to and from The Wall That Heals (via golf cart, wheelchair / etc.).

Check in arriving volunteers. Follow up with volunteers regarding their shifts. Keep water & snacks accessible for volunteers. Assist as needed.
